Printing Impressions magazine, producer of the annual Gold Ink Awards, announced that Visual Magnetics, developer of the Visual Magnetics Graphic System™, received an Award for its Visual Magnetics Graphic System in the Potpourri category. This year’s Gold Ink Award winners were chosen from more 1,000 entries submitted within 46 different categories. Graphic system developer Visual Magnetics LP said Tuesday it has selected North Kingstown-based Trico Specialty Films LLC as a major supplier. The venture is estimated at $1 million during the next year and could grow up to $7 million within four years, the news release said.

Google comes up with "about" 10.3 million results in a scant 0.08-second search for "magnetism." You can find things out like where it was first discovered, the physics of all electromagnetic energy, and places and methods for mining the raw materials used to manufacture magnets. You can discover relationships between elements like neodymium, cobalt, iron, manganese and uranium.

It's all there—including many sources and information about magnetic sign making materials.

Point-of-purchase (POP) graphics are a very important promotional tool for many retailers. They are also integral to the sign business. In fact, according to the Speciality Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA’s) 2010 Market Trends Survey Report, POP graphics respresent the leading market for graphic images, accounting for roughly 75 percent of overall share.
